Description
We are having a major snow event today. Schools, businesses, and freeways are closed; over 200 flights have been canceled at DFW. Right now I have nearly 6" of snow outside my door, breaking all records for a snow this late in March since 1924!! TV stations have forgone regular schedules to cover the weather non stop. There have been many vehicle accidents, including on the highway right in front of my house. Texans are not famous for being able to drive in snow and ice, lol. I have been like a kid in a candy store today, taking pictures and going outside to revel in the rare treat. I have had to feed the birds every 15 minutes, as what I put out is either quickly eaten or buried in more snow. Not the best shot, the window was covered with drops. I'll try to catch up later. Right now I'm having too much fun. :) Thanks for looking and for your comments.

When I saw this and hadn't read what you wrote, I thought you were a genius for giving this darling cardinal the name Major Snow. LOL Now I find, after opening it up and seeing it in all its glory that you are a genius for bringing this fabulous cold capture about. My favorite little song bird and a stellar capture of Major Snow.

This is a beautiful picture of our red friend. I've only seen these once in my life and then I didn't get a clear view, but I was so impressed with thier beauty. Enjoy that snow!

Splendid depiction of the poor Cardinal trying to hold its own under the most trying weather conditions! This is really a great shot, with the bird with its bright colors contrasted against the snow and foliage, Maria. Have fun out there, and keep that camera warm.

Great capture! Enjoy it while you can. I live in South Arkansas and we get snow about as often as Texas does. The line of snow is heading in right now, my new camera should be here tomorrow and then I'll get my chance to play as well. Have fun I know I will!
