This shot was taken on the second storey floor of Chirk Castle, North Wales, a few weeks ago and is accessed by a very steep and winding circular stone staircase. There was no artificial lighting on this floor and so the lighting is purely that from the window. The exterior of the castle also features in my gallery.
Postwork includes alteration of curves, a slight boost of hue and saturation as well as a little dodge and burn to show more detail in the stonework.
Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are more than welcome and valued!

The ambient light is gorgeous, but like Mick has asked, I'm a bit naive when it comes to some of the postwork language, I have only ever used small amount of PS elements5, dodge and burn went right over my head mate.

You made cold stone look warm and inviting! Thanks for the info about the room and comments about postwork. Photos like this really get the imagination going. I could see a cot along the left wall, a scribe's desk along the right wall near the window, and maybe a brazier somewhere for a bit of heat. Either that or a cloak room. Or storage for excess tapestries. :-)
