Description
There is strong evidence that shortly after the beginning of the Universe there was only hydrogen and helium (to put it in a very simplified way). These atoms eventually grouped in nebulas and, eventually, nuclear fusion was triggered, using hydrogen as its "fuel" and converting it into helium. A star was born. This process is still constantly happening, all over the Universe.
When the star reaches a certain age, it expands and glows red. At this time, helium is converted into carbon. If a star has enough mass, additional fusion processes occur and other atoms are formed, like oxygen, nitrogen and even iron. If a star reaches this phase, it will eventually become a supernova, exploding and spreading its material in a vast volume of space. In this process, it creates other elements. The shock wave propels these elements into space. The star is dead.
These elements eventually group and form planets. In some of these planets (at least in one of them...) life is born. The living creatures are made of the very same atoms that were created in a star.
So, you and me, we are all composed of atoms that were created in stars. We are all Children of the Stars.
This image is the allegory of this process. I had fun making it, I hope you like it.
Note: the above text is a simplified description of a very complex process. I'm by no means an expert in this field so please apologize some inaccuracy.
Thanks for watching!

Exceptional and inspiring.

Well said. It goes back (at least) to Sagan saying "we are all stardust".

Cool!

Great idea, nicely done. But where does one's Spirit come into it or is that just religious babbling which today's science has no room for, maybe to its own error even.

Very Nice! ;)

Very well done.

As the philosopher Dallit said, "We are as the stars. We burn with the fire of life. Fire is our legacy." Dallit lived in Nepal thousands of years ago and must have known something. LOLOLOLOLOL I like the glowy trails, and metaphorical allegories in picture. Very spiritual and thought-provoking. ^__^V,,

very profound and arresting work.

A brilliant (no pun intended!) idea; and a theme of pure logic to consider, after all, as far as we know, everything is borne of stars! Great render depicting this concept!

What a wonderful render and idea, the fx are superb and visually stunning. I've always read with interest the theorys about the beginning of the universe and where man fits in all this. Now I know LoL.

a truly creative piece

And on the seventh day...."Sorry God, science beat you to it!" Fantastic illustration of the beginning of the beginning!! It makes my head hurt just thinking about how atoms move at different speeds, which is the reason we don't fall through the floor in our living rooms. Some are proven, others still theories..Would be nice to know, don't you think! Regards Kev

After seeing this image, i´m having difficulties to put into words what I want to say. It´s such a moving image it´s hard to express all the feelings and concepts that come to my mind. I agree with a previous comment " splendid accomplishment, a fabulous vision, an amusing result, a cosmic ballet."

"Children of the Stars" an old Billy Thorpe tune/album. This image catches the spirit of that album very well.
