Fantastic shot Marilyn, i love lighthouses and the LINK shows how beautiful the whole spot is, gave me an impression that it could have been the southern coast here in England.

Well, good grief! Don't tell me they closed down the hostel too... Back in "those days" Pigeon Point was the place to roll out the sleeping bags, meet up with old friends and make new ones. As far as the central coast goes, this has always been my pick. Big Sur and Monterey are gorgeous but not so easy to sink your toes in the sand around there. Great shot, Marilyn. Really nice view of this lighthouse and grounds.

A charming place, especially with the little blue trimmed house.

Stupendous capture Marilyn, and the link was very informative as well, very interesting reading. It could maybe do with a lick of paint but that does not detract from the photograph, that is just down to maintenance. I would not have thought it to be 115-foot high from this view though. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Oh yes, an elegant foto worthy of any calendar! Although, with the rusty corrosion, it looks like the lighthouse could do with a saltwater-resistant paint job. Even so, a most bucolic and rustic tableau, Marilyn!

Oh wow - I checked the link, and learned that they ran a first order Fresnel here. That is one bad-ass lighthouse! Nice shot, and thanks for the link.

Amazing capture and an intriguing place. Lighthouses have fascinated me in many ways for so many years and this one is no exception. Great work and I love your POV here! The link is nicely informative as well, and what this picture really gets me to thinking about is how great it would be to eventually find myself living in California--with a particular Russian of course! Thanks for sharing this and letting me see something that just might shape some aspect of my future.
