Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Oh, they are so cute and cuddly....but, I can imagine staying a safe distance is best...I get the feeling that they can really do some damage to a human, especially with any young pups around. Still, wouldn't mind petting one. Great capture with your new camera, Marilyn.

Yes, it looks like you're just right there with them! Probably close enough, though, they can smell quite a bit! He is posing for you, isn't he?
Madbat
Y'know, except for the one in the middle, the rest of em look like grey burritos.

Gorgeous work Marilyn. I knew your new zoom was going to rock this shot, and its so much nicer then I did with the 70mm. This was taken at the Fitzpatrick Marine Reserve/San Mateo County, CA. Pigeon Point is about 30 miles south... if you care :o)

Now thats what I like to see, a new camera going through it's paces and showing off what it is capable of. Ain't it great you can stand further back from the subject and still get up close. Excellent capture Marilyn, and great to getting out there and using that new toy, a late Christmas present maybe? If it was it was well worth the wait. I look forward to many more shots from this. Bravo!!!!!

A lovely candid [and cute] animal capture for sure! Mike

This is a cute and warming shot. I've always liked seals and sea lions and this guy looking right at the camera is evidence of why! Their expressions are always so eager and inquisitive! Looks like you're getting good use out of your new camera as well! Great!

Excellent zoom shot of the multitextured sea lions lying blissfully on the beach. Actually, from their positioning, I think each of them could do with a good mattress. Anyway, I suppose this capture SEALS the fact that you've got a pretty good camera.
RobyHermida
Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROBY ;o)
