That's me, lookin for work. One month ago today, I became obsolete in my career of Medical Transcription. One reason is the f-ing outsourcing of American jobs. But, that's not the main reason. The main reason is that hospitals don't want to pay for their much needed medical/radiology/surgical/pathology reports which is HOW THEY F-ING GET PAID! So, they're all going to a program of Voice Recognition and that removes the need for the MT to type the reports. I've seen what these programs generate as reports on human freakin beings' medical conditions. This is going to kill and mame! If you get x-rays or have anything done, make sure to ask for 2nd reading of the films etc. I hope every single hospital and doc gets sued to the f-ing bone!!!!!!!!! Oh, and the few MTs that continue, are now paid like pennies per line, not even enough to make minimum wage and MTs have to know as much as the docs they type for!

I'm having a hard time coming to grips with this as you may have gathered. LOL. Am I angry? Oh hell yeah!
Unemployed is one thing, but unemployed in your chosen career due to it's coming to an end due to this kind of automation is appauling!

Hey Ruby. Well, it's hard to know what to say about the situation in which you find yourself. It can be anyone of us and is in so many ways is. Yep that Bush person and those around him have sold us down the river. Sorry to say that many folks put him there and kept him there to do it. I want to say to you that your art is superior and wonderful. So you must also be that way about your work and as a person. You will find other work and it will be to your standard. We will want to know when you do. You have my prayers and good thoughts that it happens and very soon. In the meanwhile, keep smiling and keep us smiling too, with your magnificent artwork. We lost our biggest customers to outsourcing about a year ago and slowly but surely are loosing more...I thought this was america..This is Fucked up!I feel for you...If our small bussiness folds 4 families are without and dozens of others will lose their jobs..I have been cleaning houses and doing whatever work i can get to make ends meet..my father is turning in his grave as he was the founder of our bussiness(making wire products).....I really feel let down by our government.and dont feel very secure about the future..I have kept my mouth shut until now..hearing your anger makes me want to share...This is a gorgeous piece of artwork!Love her expression and pose,and the lighting is perfect.....Hope things get better for us all.....

Well, I hope they get sued stupid Ruby, but not at the expense of someone dying through incompetance. You have shown a tremendous flair despite your obvious and justified annoyance here my friend. The style, dress and pose of your subject are immaculate. The light is exquisite and the ambience here, is delightful. I like this very much indeed. You have every reason to be very proud of this fascinating creation my friend. I get the feeling this is going to backfire on them, so hold onto your hats folks! Steve :o)

ruby.... I am appalled to here about your job. WTF are they thinking? voice software is internationally plagued with problems.... it makes anything from Microsoft seem bullet proof by comparison. all it needs is some high profile case, and then it will hit the news... and kazango, instant karma.... of course, someone may die because of it. Image is superb (as always... makes me jealous) glad the job hasn't affected your artistic measure!

That is very bad news indeed, for MT's like you and for people who will be in medical trouble because of this. At least you are having one hell of a good rant. Hope things go better for you soon. And BTW, your artwork is stunning. CC

wonderfull image. Sorry for the job situation. Did you go to privates clinics? Maybe in the private you would have a decent pay. Or maybe, play a trick on life, go back to school to learn how those transcript programm work, that way you still going to be the brain of those machine in your field and can whip them!!!!!lol
