Description

...yet another spring impression: Anemones in bloom, beeches beginning to foliage, not a complicated scene as such :) Focus on lighting and the trees/vegetation design. Vue 5 Infinite render, volumetric atmosphere. Trees made in Onyxtree, textured in Vue. All objects and textures by me. Colour correction, framing & signature in Photoshop. Thanks for viewing - comments etc. very much welcome and appreciated. Have a nice day - Lars

I think the scene you have presented here is a good beginning point. The colour of the beech leaves is very close to the verdant, luxurious green that they first unfold. There are two things that distract me about the image. one is the spartan detail on the rise in the background. The other is the angle of the beech tree branches. Beech trees (Fagus & Fagus sylvatica, I am assuming you are not intending them to be Nothofagus, a pseudo 'beech' tree)commonly have branches that slope downwards from the trunk, leveling out in long, sweeping arcs. If not for the colour of the leaves and bark and the title of the piece, I would not have recognised the trees presented here as being beeches. Have a look at the angle of the beech tree models represented here ~ http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1607333 For some useful photo references see here ~ http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5b/Grib_skov.jpg and here ~ http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Fagus_sylvatica_Purpurea_JPG4a.jpg
