Description

I was flipping channels the other day and came upon an old western movie from the 40s. I love westerns, but haven't seen any in a long time. This one cracked me up. The good guy wearing a white hat, shot the bad guys, in black hats, without missing a shot, while the bad guys couldn't hit a thing. They were all of thirty feet from one another. Then the scene jumps to town where the good guy is singing and playing a guitar, with a fiddle and bass player conveniently standing nearby. He sang to the pretty school marm, while his sidekick made eyes with not-so-pretty best friend. So that got me thinking, couldn't you just picture this fancy pants gussied-up singing cowboy riding into a camp with the likes of John Wayne, Jack Palance and Clint Eastwood sitting around a campfire eating beans with the guys from Blazing Saddles? "Hey, Buckaroos. What do you say we all sing a song together?"....................Bang! Thud. *** Clothes from Poserworld, Questor's gun & holster. Cactii - 3dplants. Made the guitar in Hexagon, made the background scene in Bryce. Painted the shirt details and warped the guy's face with the liquify brush in Photoshop. This is also a shout out to The Riders In the Sky, a great group of singers of authentic western music, who influenced part of the idea behind this image.

Oh wow... reminds me of when I was 5 and would go to the Saturday movie and for 25 cents you got the movie, popcorn, drink, and a good ole western complete with singing cowboy. My favorite and first crush was Roy Rogers and his horse Trigger. Great image!

Nice job! Funny to see this too! - I do have to wonder how it might have looked with either a cartoon render or after work to give it a cartoon feel. Yippy Kay Yah

Oh yeah! Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, et al. Re your scenario: Sounds like a subplot for the "Unforgiven." Grin.
