Description

"Buckets of rain Buckets of tears Got all them buckets coming out of my ears Buckets of moonbeams in my hand You got all the love honey baby I can stand." ~ lyrics from Buckets Of Rain by Bob Dylan (Thanks LovelyPoetess)

I figured I'd stick with the previous theme and share a wider angle view from the other afternoon, near the end of the torrential rainstorm. It took the water in the area behind the loading bay at work about 2 hours to recede. Luckily, I had a high vantage point and some cover from which to photograph these scenes. Like snowflakes, no ripple patterns are ever the same in body of water during a natural rain shower. The randomness of the drops and other factors conspired to make the ripple interact differently every tip I released the shutter. Fortunately, the sun came of for a bit and gave things a bit more punch. What I like about an image like this is the contrast between the overall pattern of the scene and then the little things happening in various parts of it -- the bottom right corner for example. And yes, those are leaves, not fish, in the water. ;'] -----

Fascinating shot, Kort. I love to watch rain falling on water like this, and the lighting on this one is just excellent.

It's one of those pics that you can sit and look into for ages and keep seeing different qualities in. I really like the blue and purple saturated hues in this too - another great capture Kort!!

Greetings Kort, As previously mentioned it is something I would love to recreate but I am also looking at the use of materials since an exact representation would not convey the real enery, while alternative materials would be more interesting. Thank you for sharing. egmont
