Description

"But the beginning of things, of a world especially, is necessarily vague, tangled, chaotic, and exceedingly disturbing. How few of us ever emerge from such beginning! How many souls perish in its tumult!" ~ Kate Chopin

It is best to give a series at least 3 images, right? Here is a last one taken near the height of the tumult. The constant rain is churning up the water quite a bit. The verticle streaks are actually the raindrops in motion, and the one to the front right caught the light in a rather nice manner. Here's a fun thing to try. While looking at the photo let your eyes go out of focus a bit. Don't focus on any one part of it. The mind start to find patterns and shapes drawn from our memory, a bit like staring up at the popcorn tile of one's ceiling before bed or just after waking up. I saw some guys dancing with an iPod on, a guitar player, and more. Sharky? ;'] It also starts to squiggle around a bit like an optical illusion, even at times reminding me of a 3D stereogram. -----

Sorry, Kort, but with my double vision, I rarely get anything more than sleepy, when I try to unfocus my eyes. One way to get to sleep... This is a nicely captured 'tumult' indeed. I like the colours. It reminds me of a satellite view of the Himalayas, so the scale woukld be completely different. Regards, John.

My eyes find more order in your previous one, thus making it more pleasing to look at. Still, the patterns in both images are very special.

....well I tried the 'out of focus' staring bit - and eventually a message came through .... IMPEACH BUSH !.........now is this some sort of subliminal message - or do we all start seeing what we want to see ?? .......anyway - a very visually stimulating series of water patterns Kort !

Wow~ This is an eye-popper! I like the series, very cool idea. I think I like #2 best, because of the leaves, but they are all pleasing. I think they'd make a good background or screensaver.

Terrific colors, textures, lighting effects and dynamics in this compo, Kort. No steady state theory in this concept.

I don't have stereo vision, so that stuff doesn't work for me, but I really like this one. It's just a beautiful abstract in light and dark to me.
