Description
Not too sure about the age of the engine but the truck is 68 years old at least. Originally it had a Meadows 6 Cylinder 115 bhp petrol unit. I cannot tell you when it was changed over though. I have it on good authority that it kicks out a bit of black smoke on start up but is still a good runner when warmed up..
Will you look at that shine though.

Amazing that it can still shine up that way after being used for so many years. I don't know a whole lot about engines, but even I can tell this one is about as simple as they get, look under a hood now and nothing makes any sense!! Great foto, Jeff, as all of these are!!

Superb Jeff! Excellent detail! Brilliant! 5++

Was going to say the same as Marilyn about how they get them so shined up still. Even the engine not a speck of muck on it ! They must spend hours keeping them in this condition. I see they have tied the bell up Jeff probably so no annoying kid could get a hold of it. A cracking shot mate.

Wonderful shot Jeff, a pristine engine. Very nice reflections too. Going to be cheeky today!!!!! Sounds a bit like you.... a good little runner when warmed up! Have a beautiful day. Sunshine hugs. Diane. xx

Brings back memories when i use to fix tractor engines they were six cylinder diesel engines, i use to get plastered in greese and oil everyday. great capture jeff and i like the reflection on the fender, excellent well done.

Marvellous. Even though I am a straight female, I have always rather liked machines, especially ones that are easy to understand. It was all so easy when there were no electronics, even I understood SUCK,SQUEEZE,BANG,FART. My brother gave up being a mechanic to drive a cab when he needed a computer instead of a bag of spanners.Lovely pic!

Excellent composition and great capture.

Definitely a diesel with the injection pumps. With cylinders in blocks of three it contradicts the wisdom of pairs.

That's what I call an engine. A big gas guzzler, would be taxed off the road now.
