Description

I spent yesterday outside, working in my yard. The front flower bed, seen in a couple of my recent posts*, was in great need of weeding and cleaning. This spot was my first big project when I started my gardening business, figured I'd do something at my own house before I tested my skills somewhere else. Originally, all that was there was a small bed parallel to the sidewalk in front of the house. I widened it, gave it the curve, lined it with bricks and this is what's there now. So after I was done, I got my camera and just started taking pix. This shot is of one of the bricks that's covered with moss. It's pretty trippy stuff, not only is there the moss, there's also a kind of grass or something that sticks up from the surface. I leaned over, turned my camera upside down and took this pic and a couple of others. Had of course then flip the foto back up when I uploaded it, but there's just something about this I like a lot. Now I'll stop talking (writing?) and let you see it for yourself!! *click here

Is that what they call trick photography, standing on your head. I like those succulents Marilyn, they always remind me of big podgy fingers, the sort butchers used to have. I always marveled at our family butcher, his fingers were as fat as his sausages. Excellent capture, you'd do well in Australia.lol. Bravo!!!!!

When are you coming East to open a chain of gardening centers, Marilyn. I'll give you my business. Yard is 100 x 40 feet and could use some additions to the gardens. Oh, almost forgot, there are additional plantings around the driveway, too. Great capture and very original.

Oh, the agony we endure for the ecstacy of our art! Interesting subject matter in this capture, plus detailed narrative, Marilyn.

Moss. I've lived most of my life in a grimy industrial city. When I was a boy most of the [very few] tree trunks and all of the brick walls were coated with dirty black grime. Then the city began to clean up - only smokeless fuels were allowed and eventually we knew when the policy was working when the first moss arrived. So - three cheers for moss! Very interesting POV Mike

Is that ice plant? I just brought some back from the coast but I don't have much luck with it. It takes one look at me and dries up and dies. Fun pov.

Oooh, this shot reminds me of bug-vision! I always loved bug vision...gardens always look so otherworldly from so low a perspective. As for this shot, it's utterly fantastic! The POV is intriguing and rarely explored in such a way! You've captured a perspective of the world that's rare...and in a sense, created a new one! Great colors here too! I love the whole image.
