I like this one a lot! I'm intrigued mostly by the whole left side of this image The tree is vivid and lively, well done, especially in terms of color. But the rocky soil is really what gets me. It looks layered, like there were successive generations of muck and compost buried there, and that implies a kind of sadness to me...as if a garden had been there for generations, but eventually the ground eroded away. Hmmm...maybe I'm reading WAY too much into this, but that's what strikes me about this image. As for the right side of it, which got so little attention in this long-winded comment, it's great as well, especially the haziness behind the house and in front of the mountain/hill. You do that haze thing really well, and it's one of the things that distinguishes your pieces...that and the sense of color you always use. It's like those elements are your signature! Great work!

Can't believe how it's been since I spent much time here...! I remember when you first started "playing with" Bryce, Mar - your distinctive and often colorful style is quite pleasing to the eye. I like the painterly, almost canvas texturing of this one...!
