Description

This image is the same as my previous post but with global illumination instead of global ambience. thumb_1635844.jpg It added areas of darkness but I lost a lot of the colorfulness.(I was reluctant to loose the color - too much snow whiteness lately). I've copied the intro from the previous post for those who disnt see it: One more part in the series of Kira's dreams, this time featuring the mechanical girl Dew-T. Her previous appearances were in 'Come with me Kira' where she seemed hold the chain enslaving Kira. thumb_1590876.jpg and in 'Unexpected empathy' where she hesitantly tries to console and encourage Kira thumb_1623627.jpg Perhaps she was right to be hesitant, she seemed to have out-lived her usefulness. Was she not mechanical enough? did she neglect her duties? maybe her duties became obsolete, and she with them... So, do you see any of that in the image? do you see something completely different? I'd love to hear your thoughts and feelings, as well as any technical or artistic comments. Thanks!

Comparing both versions, I agree with the fact that there´s a noticeable loss of the colorfulness. Nevertheless, I found this version more accomplished that the previous one for this same reason. Version 1 was ( is) a delight, a very nice image to look at, but it was somehow difficult to find out what and where it was the emphasis of the artist. Now, with the adition of more defined spotlights and subsequent shadows the emphasis became clearer. Both versions are splendid jobs, anyway.

This version more clearly focuses on your figure. The loss of some of the color on the platform, along with the heavier shadows, both unifies your color palette and improves your composition. It's a wonderful image that looks ready to be published!
