Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

Fantastic landscape view my friend.Excellent capture.

I used to go up there a lot as well Alan, and I don't think I have ever had one better than this, like you say that haze seems to hang there all the time. I have got a couple of night shots taken from the white house though, and they aren't too bad. I have a couple of Emma right up at the trig point, I don't think I will ever get that far again though. lol. You seemed suprised to hear I will be sixty this year when Pauline mentioned it, I wonder why? Excellent capture from this great vantage point. A bit more information relevant to this image, or the place it was taken from. In 1641 there was a garrison of 800 men on Blackstone Edge, during the civil war(The War of the Roses). Also in 1721 Daniel Defoe, famous traveller and author of Robinson Crusoe, went over Blackstone Edge in a snow storm. I did tell you Friday, I am full of useless information.lol. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
