Description

Thanks for the Lake comments. I also found this one amongst my files. Taken from the top of the Roman Road on Blackstone edge. I walk over here 3-4 times a year maybe and it has always been this hazey for a photo. I just wanted to give you an idea of what the view is like looking over the lake. Way in the distance on the horizon (I know you can't see anything) is Manchester UK. Good weekend to you. and thanks Alan.

I used to go up there a lot as well Alan, and I don't think I have ever had one better than this, like you say that haze seems to hang there all the time. I have got a couple of night shots taken from the white house though, and they aren't too bad. I have a couple of Emma right up at the trig point, I don't think I will ever get that far again though. lol. You seemed suprised to hear I will be sixty this year when Pauline mentioned it, I wonder why? Excellent capture from this great vantage point. A bit more information relevant to this image, or the place it was taken from. In 1641 there was a garrison of 800 men on Blackstone Edge, during the civil war(The War of the Roses). Also in 1721 Daniel Defoe, famous traveller and author of Robinson Crusoe, went over Blackstone Edge in a snow storm. I did tell you Friday, I am full of useless information.lol. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

A beautiful image Alan. Being this hazy makes it look realistic and adds 'Stimmung' to it, Sig...
