Description

I captured this image from my hotel window in Douglas, Isle of Man, at sunrise in March last year. It was quite tricky as the window couldn't open more than 6 inches and I had to push my hand and camera through the opening, then lift the lens up and had to shoot one handed... It also took some skill getting both hand and camera back without dropping the camera. What us photographers wouldn't do for a nice shot? Thank you for popping in. xx

This is a beautifully proportioned image, the positioning is absolutely spot on. The lonely bird reminded me of one of my poems Odder then, this derangement of vision, this trick of the evening light, when eyes focus clear in time's distance and, close to hand, reality simply fades, mistily drifting. Very impressive shot Carin, the colour of the sky and reflection on the sea are delightful and you finished the whole composition perfectly with the seagull. Congrats especially after it being such an awkward shot to take!
