Remember when I showed you the photo of our picnic in Procyon? Here's the link:
I told you then that my son was fascinated by something he saw in the distance (you can see him pointing it out to his sister). Well, we returned to the planet last weekend and went to that place. This was a kind of "Water Temple". This planet was (and still is) a very dry planet. We can only speculate how precious water must have been to this race. In fact, it was so precious that they built an entire temple to pay tribute to water.
The temple from the outside is magnificent but I decided to show you a photo of the inside instead. You can see my son gazing at the magnificence of that stained glass. The whole temple floor is covered with water, you can see it below. Every element in this temple reminds me of water and waves: look at the waves on the walls, look at the shape of the stairs, look at the black frame around the figure, look at the elements of blue glass... And many other details not visible in this image. When the first explorers got here, they found this temple partially destroyed by the passage of thousands of years. It was in the meantime reconstructed, faithfully to the original.
On a side note, maybe you'll notice that you can also see some of the nearby mountains through the glass.
The figure in the glass was probably some kind of holy man, according to archeologists. It was from this stained glass that they made the reconstruction that I showed recently, link here:
I will try to find a photo of the outside. I know I told Roy (our android) to take one but I cant remember if I downloaded it already or if it's still in his head...
