What a strange cut out in the door, I can only guess at the reason for it. A very beautiful door, great craftsmanship all that intricate carving, you can tell it's quite old by the way the sliding bolt has rubbed away some of the carving. Not only the door but those beautiful tiles behind it, with what I would think is Arabic writing engraved in them. Superb capture and presentation. Bravo!!!!!!
