Description

Taken with my old camera, Pentax Optio 550 in 2006. A couple of years ago my sister and I decided we wanted to go on an adventure, so booked a flight out to Croatia, and a flight back from Barcelona 11 days later, leaving the rest up to fate/chance. We got a little held up in Venice and arsing about with trains in France but eventually made it to Barcelona. Though we didn't get to spend as much time there as we liked there was no missing the city's distinct architecture. Here's Casa Batlló, by Antoni Gaudi (who I happened to have just been studying at that time), an intriguing design but too steeply priced for two backpacking penniless students (I literally was by this point, having had my wallet stolen a few hours before). I intend to return and see it properly one day along with the Sagrada Familia, maybe when it's (eventually) finished! Not much to say about the pic, bit of a touristy snap from the old camera but one of the better photos to emerge from that leg of the journey.. Edit: thanks Nuria for pointing out my spelling mistake, I've changed it for the title but can't do much now about the one embedded in the pic! =)

I am glad very much that you like our city, Barcelona, as well as the brilliant architect's works Gaudí. The picture of the house Batlló (not Battlo) is wonderful and for sure when you return and visit the Sagrada Familia you will make pictures so beautiful as this. A hug, Nuria
