Taken in 2006 on Pentax Optio 555. Another shot from Barcelona and my old camera.. while I was on the theme I thought I'd continue it =) This was taken on the main, vibrant strip running for a few km down the centre of Barcelona called Las Ramblas, where you're likely to find all kinds of performing artists and various things aimed at the tourist market. Unless you put a small amount of money in their cap/pot, most of these artists made it very difficult for you to get a good photo, turning away or obscuring their features. So here you can see it was 'our turn' after my sister went up and dropped her a coin. She is supposedly Sirahil, and though I can't make out all the Spanish, I think it basically tranlates as 'Guardian of the blue skies'. Again, a pretty touristy 'snap' but to me it serves its purpose of putting me back there in the warmth with few real cares in the world.. (Laura is in fact looking at the camera when you zoom in even though she looks to be gazing off to the size, I suspect she was maybe attaching a higher priority to "catching some rays", angling herself toward the warm glow in the sky...!)
