Do you all remember Loretta Lynn:
♫ ♪ ♫
I'm about as old fashioned as I can be
And I hope you're lik'in what you see
'Cause if you're lookin' at me
You're lookin' at country ♪ ♫
You don't see no city when you look at me
'Cause a country is all I am
I love runnin' bare-footed
Through the old corn fields
And I love that country ham ♪ ♫
Well you say I'm made just to fit your plans
But does a barnyard shovel fit your hands?
If your eyes are on me
You're lookin' at country
This here country is a little green
And there's a lot of country that a you ain't seen.............

Great shot! My aunt used to have 8 track tapes in her car with Loretta Lynn and other country singers of the same era.

An old barn but wonderfully decorated window panes to make it look bold and functional despite the age showing in its rustic nature. Yeah I do remember Loretta Lynn...

Nope. Not sure I've ever heard Loretta Lynn. I really like this bright red barn against the green, though. Well done.

You mean LOretta from the Holler? :-) I used to pal around with Charlie Pride's cousin before he died and he used to tell tales about him and Loretta and several other singers who would meet up at Willie Nelson's house in Mule Shoe, Texas and jam. That man had an incredible voice and some great stories. And, this shot here is really comfortable. it has that relaxed look to it that tells you its country. Great capture.

Nobody sang in the country I knew. No radio played. The sounds were the sounds of apples falling from the trees and hooves of yearling bulls. Mostly it was a smell.

I could sit all day with your country shots...this old barn is lovely for all its wear and striation...the breaks in the red paint almost look like vines creeping up its sides; and the discoloration of the roof makes it look like it was freshly snowed-upon...You got branches in front & in back, to remind us this is taken in gentle nature; and the grasses right up against the barn are portrayed in the softest almost water-color textures, as if they were glows as much as grasses. It's a small haiku to a beautiful old structure, creaking & old but with lots of love put into it, and 'told' (photographed) with the kind of affection that takes nothing away from it but rather sings a small song to it, with grace and gentle love. Lovely.
