Description

My sister and I were walking along Lake Tahoe yesterday, and this magnificent creature was just perched on a post about 30 feet in front of us. I used my zoom, kept getting closer and closer. He let me get about 5 feet away from him; I didn't want to press my luck ~~or make him mad!! At any rate, I took a LOT of pix of him, this was the closest close up!!

Marilyn, you did good! Ya got this guy and you got him in his splendor. This is a clear and detailed close up. Isn't it exciting to get so close to a preditor like this? Fabulous.

Did your legs start shaking and your heart thumping so hard you could hear it, I bet the adrenalin was pumping somewhat, to be so close to something that could rip you open with a swipe from its tallons. You are a very brave woman thats for sure. Superb capture Marilyn, I'm supprised that it allowed you to get so close, and also that the shot is so clear, I would be shaking that much with excitement, I'm sure I'd forget to press the shutter release. Awesome! Bravo!!!!!5+++++ The sky is a bit burnt out but who cares.

Yayyy! Magnificent creature is right! Terrific POV and textures in this tele-portrait of the gallant raptor, apparently more than willing to have its picture taken. Even so, it conveys the message: Don't tread on me! BTW, the body plumage is striking, but it appears the avian was having a bad hair day.

Stunning photo Marilyn. This should be up on your wall at home, the photo, not the bird. Tony :-)
