Description

This is a wild orchid that seeded itself in a hanging basket at the back of my home. The plant is a protected species in UK. I am not allowed to move it. It blooms every year and is my pride and my joy. So much is happened in our lives at the moment, David's contract for work in London has not been renewed. I am so happy he will now be home with me, for a while at least. I thank you for looking and for treasured comments. Have a beautiful weekend. Hugs. Diane.

Oh Diane! Such a marvellous capture of these amazing flowers! They have to be among my most favourite and greatly admired... and the little bug that you've managed to capture! Such terrific, brilliant and vibrant colours... the lighting and focus is most perfect! Absolutely sublime work!

Oh Diane! How absolutely gorgeous! Now I have to go and google and see if there are any wild orchids growing in our area! This beautiful flower must have known it would be totally safe and protected in your basket in your yard! What a fortunate lady you are, and what a splendid capture! I'm especially taken by the wisps of spider web attached so artistically (did I spell that right?) to that most beautiful orchid! And look, is that the spider herself half hidden by a leaf right near the stalk of the flower?

This is lovely, Diane. What a blessing to have this beauty and to preserve it for us all! Do you happen to know the species?
