Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

The tones give the feeling of the period, dear Alan. Poor little mites being shipped off to who knows where. A superbly atmospheric capture. Hats off to you, me dear! Hugs. Di. xx

Superb shot Alan, I missed this one as a group, I did catch the two lads seperately later on in the day, I was thinking of uploading one of them this morning but I will choose something else now.lol. I like how this worked out, it really is classic, none of the other out of dress people in the shot, this could have been taken in the 40's. Mum and the two kids catching the tram down to the train station, waving the lads off to who knows where. This as to be the best so far, and a fav for me. Top notch mate. Bravo!!!!!

It certainly looks very authentic. What a special and fun day it would be to live in the past for several days a year. Great in speia tone.

What a wonderful and nostalgic place. An excellent capture of times gone by.

This gives me the sense that it's really happening. If I came back in an hour, those people would be gone, the boys sent off to the countryside for the duration, the mother heading home, worried. Great capture!

Such a wonderful shot of what it must have been, although I have a feeling there would have been more people waiting for transit. The sepia is on track with the times and I'm impressed that this era is so well reinacted on so many points in such a broad area.
