Description

There would have been dodgy dealers like this fellow walking the streets with the "gift of the gab" (sales pitch) and a little suit case full of black-market goods. Selling silk stockings and anything else that would have been in great demand. Commonly known as Spivs in England. Here at the museum many of these characters actually ACT out who they are portraying while you are stood taking photo's and this guy had a fantastic sales pitch (script) trying to talk soldiers into buying something to impress the women!

Nice bit of postwork here Alan, I can't think what would have been in the top right, other than an out of dress person, fantastic job you've done. I got a couple of this chap but not close up like this one, and the chap with the Roller was in the way. Superb capture and postwork. Bravo!!!!!

We've still got them but they're called insurance salesmen.

Yeah, we had our fair share of them here too. The slick talker. Great shot. You really captured the sense of the man and his business. I knew right away his personality.

Fantastic render Alan. I remember these guys too. Mingling with the crowd on train stations like 'Zoologischer Garten' hawking their wares in a low tone of voice. Cigarettes (American), chocolate (Swiss), and nylons. Seems like these guys were always in money. Again Alan, these images bring back memories-and not necessarily good ones. Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate it, Sig... By the way, I have never seen any shows like this in the US.
