Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

Well it is the right date, lol. These four were together though throughout the day, if you check my page and the Weekend Pass, it showes the lady with the camel hair coat with the soldier on the left. Great postwork Alan, you could have done a bit of dodge and burn on the legs though, there's plenty to go at.lol. You are a rum'on mate. Superb. Bravo!!!!! #;0)

Thanks Samyyous and others for noticing I cut and pasted using Pshop the two ladies from another shot, but as Jeff has said these 4 people were together for most of the day. Perhaps I could have spent a little more time on the legs. Good day !

Great picture Alan, but I can tell you from experience that I never saw anyone heavy like that in the post war years. Everybody was mean and lean. In germany at least, people only started to gain weight once they put the trimmings on the potatoes or on the bread. My father always used to say 'In der Not schmeckt die Wurst auch ohne Brot' meaning in an emergency the sausage tastes good without bread. That was a joke of course, because we didn't have any sausage, just bread if lucky and maybe margarine. Anyway, your picture shows the poor guy that winds up with the 'mate'. By the way, great avatar. Is it a Lotus? Is it yours? Sig...
