Description

Seems like everyone was keeping an eye on this poor little tree. The top seems to be burning faster than the bottom. A lesson learned. Aloha and thank you for viewing

This series has me totally captivated. I would never have imagined all of the ferns that are growing in this lava, and now a tree as well (well, I'm sure it isn't growing now). WOW!

As usual, an excellent POV, colors and textures in this shot of the hot stuff, Shark! I wonder how this looked to the inhabitants of Pompeii right before they were swallowed up by all that lava.

Amazing shot. That guy I recon too close. Sorry for a young tree, nothing stand a chance with a dangerous hot lava.

This really brings home the size of this flow and puts a human spin on it. Great capture.

Good Lord! I can't believe that gentleman got that close! The heat must have been incredible and he's so close to the molten lava, how does he know that the crust beneath his feet is sturdy enough to hold his weight ?!?! Braver than I!

Maria...The crust below him is from an old flow and he is about 10-15 feet away from the hot fresh lava. The wind also helps blowing the heat away from him... Aloha
