Description
Last weekend it was hitting the road big-time as Leah & I went deep down into south-central Mississippi to discover the Vicksburg/Natchez Civil War areas. And that we did, and in the process discovered a plethora of treasures that exceeded our wildest expectations!
However, I've yet to find the time this week to do much more than glance over all our photographs. But this one, taken off the side of an amazing landmark, will be my first post.
So for now I'll leave the significance of the location behind and focus instead on the splendor and simplicity of springtime in the Mississippi delta.
This is a common sight, a dandelion seed ball. Currently millions of these are growing all over the South. But in spite of their obvious commonality, I still think they are pretty cool.
Come back and you'll see what they were growing next to. . . .

Wow, your dandelions have already gone to seed, and ours are just starting to bloom. Of course the snow we had last week probably had an influence on that LOL. This is a really good shot of the seed head, even though I'm not a dandelion fan. Well done.

Much as I dislike them in the grass, they are absolutely beautiful at this stage of their life. Fantastic shot, Marshall and looking forward to more of your finds along the way!

Fantastic clarity! Beautiful shot! when I was a kid we used to pick these, make wishes and blow the seeds off of them. :-)

Beautiful! I saw some in bloom in my neighbor's yard this afternoon. They must have just come out today! (I live relatively close to Dennis - we had snow here, too.)
