Description

This is my model on one of Richardphotos Nevada trip images export sized by PaintShopPro to fit the 512kb limit. I used a halo of lights that varied in dimness from the pointing direction of the sun at Dallas-Fort Worth runway 18L on April 6, 2008 at 3:00 GMT (about 10 in the morning local). I adjusted that halo to give a bright area about where it was in the photo. My concerns about getting this aircraft type up to the probable 20,000 feet or more of the photo are temporarily suspended. It was known to climb to 11,000 feet in 11 minutes.

Excellent work Dale. This really has the softnessof atmosphere caused by height and warmth and one feels as though one is actually flying just ahead of your aircraft. Lovely image. Regards again, Warren.

Nice composition and lighting, Dale. Good use of Carrara, and Richard's terrain skin. The early years of flying were quite dangerous, and there was a romance about the pilots and even their engineers. This looks like it is between the wars, but only just. I hope it is warmer than your seasonal average in Michigan. In Scotland we had one of our wettest Marchs ever. They reckon it was a wee bit warmer, but with winds of 20+ quite regularly, it definitely did not feel like that. As for the snow at Easter... ;o) Today I can see my breath, so I reckon I will keep my scarf on, and my tammy in my pocket just in case it hits us with giant hailstones, as on Thursday. Regards, John.
