Description

I thought that it was time I played with some fire and its effects. Really, I was only tinkering with a few objects in Bryce just to see the effects it produces after manipulating quite a few of the settings in the terrain editors. I added a couple of trees and was moving the fire spheres around when I enlarged the one sphere to a gigantic size and the trees literally became engulfed with flames under this large sphere. At that point a few more tweakings occurred and decided to go with the result as an abstract. At 1920 x 1440 original render size, it took 7 hours to complete...I let the computer stay awake, while I get my sleep..lol Enjoy and thanks for viewing and commenting. Wonderful render and makes a perfect abstract, Keith. Don't you just love Bryce with all the surprises it brings? Really excellent image and stunning colors.

This is really, really neat as a stand alone image or a backdrop, and at first I thought you were using brushes and a tablet. So thanks for the explanation. I also thought at first that the shape in the centre was an alien (bird like creature with a beak?) emerging through the burning undergrowth, but then I always expect aliens. A nice departure and sideways shift from your 'regular work', Keith!

Yep, render times with fire are massive. Great image Keith and as you say this forest is absolutely engulfed in flames. Looks like I'll have to watch out for you and Debz setting fire to things. Tony :-)

I've been away for a while, but now I'm back and WOW...what an image! I love the subjective elements in this piece; the title and indeed the image speaks of conflagration, but there is an abstract element to this as well, that works perfectly on a more purely emotional level. Fantastic work and a great peek back into your gallery. Ah...there's more to see, and I'll be catching up!
