Description
These are Washington State ferries, crossing paths in the middle of the Edmonds/Kingston run. It might look like they're racing, but they're actually moving in opposite directions.
Chances are pretty good that these two are the "Walla Walla" and the "Spokane." Those are the regular ferries on this route. (Why they named ferries that navigate Puget Sound after cities that are clear on the other side of the State is a mystery to me, but there you have it.)
These are more shots from my excursion to the beach with Randy (Vaggabondd) last weekend.

What a wonderful day you must have had ~~ nothing like spending time with good friends ~~ I've been doing a lot of that in this last week and I can't get enough of it!! And this foto, well, it's great, you caught the sense of motion as they passed each other, I love it!!

Looks to me like the larger (closer) ship swallows up the smaller vessel, then poops it out behind. (Yeah, I know -- I'm a bit twisted...) LOL This was a great idea, Tara ... the sequence of shots and the perfect title. Masterfully done, my dear.

I'm a bit like OldHippieKeyboard I guess, I would have taken a shot when the other ship was totally behind the nearer one and used the title 'Going Going Gone...'.Lol. Excellent collage Tara and a great idea, looks like you had a fun time at the beach, thats the main thing. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

A fine POV employed and good detail in this capture of the ferry boats, my dear, reminiscent of the sight viewed through submarine periscopes moments before torpedoes are fired to sink the unsuspecting prey.
