Description
Was seeing what I could see through the macro lens, and came up with this composition. The eight sided blue/purple oxyhedron is a piece of Fluorite taken from an Illinois mine, the Fluorite slab it is sitting upon came from China. FYI the oxyhedron is 1/4 inch from point to point.
I used a little white led light from my keyring on the oxyhedron to highlight the colours a bit (doing that whole "necessity-mother of invention" thingy as I didn't have a spotlight) which I think worked out interestingly well as the mineral really caught and held the light within it's shape.
Thanks for having a peek : )

AH! Another one that likes playing with light and the macro, I have done a few with a laser pointer, as well as a bright LED, it is supprising what effect's you can get. Macro photography is an whole new Universe, I am still waiting for warmer weather so I can get outside with my super macro lens, and capture the little critters. Excellent capture, your experiment paid off. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
