Description

Last Sunday, my friend Randy (Vaggabondd) came over, and we spent quite a bit of time taking pictures at the beach. He took this shot, and I loved it, and couldn't keep my little postwork fingers to myself. I did a few things to it, he made some suggestions, we sent it back and forth, and this was the result. There was a red rock, or piece of brick, in the original that Randy really liked. He added that back in as a final step, and I thought it looked cool. He wanted to call this "Schindler's List" because of the red bit in the otherwise monotone image, but I'm not a movie person, and have no idea what he's on about. He PROMISES me you'll get it! So we arm wrestled for the title, and I won. :) Oh ... and as Randy always says, "I hope everyone likes it."

I think my only observation is I love the birds - they add a little something and create more interest. But they ought to be more defined so they can be seen better. Other than that, I love the monotone and the appearance of the single red stone. Great job you guys!

Randy's title would have fitted too, that's a ghastly scene with the red coated little girl, but this is a Joyous image, great postwork between you two, the sepia and the red colour pop is a grand idea, congrats :) to you both

Looks like Los Dos Colaboradores have put their heads together and come up with a winner! Having been a participant in a few solitary beach walks, I love the mood you captured. I get Randy's title (I'm thinking of a little girl in a red coat with a monotone group of people behind her) but I think yours is a bit more apropos. Glad you're good at arm wrestling... :o)

If you have never seen 'Shindler's List' Tara, you want to rent the DVD and watch it, it is a very moving film about the 'Jews' and how Shindler saved so many by having them work for him in his factory. It is hard to try and explain the film in so few words, it was I believe based on a true story, and I can see where Randy is reminded of the film with the one red rock in the monotone image. Excellent capture and postwork, a real joint effort. Bravo!!!!!
