Description

A loved friend loves Bluegrass music. I shot this of his banjo case at a small festival in 2005. The powder helps his hand slide on the instrument neck during outdoor concerts. Play or not, to listen to a bunch of pick and grin folks jamming is fun for me. Add a good barbeque sandwich and sunshine and smiles are all around.

Superb photo and this one hits close to home for me as in my area this is a common site with Branson and Silver Dollar City filled with such performers. For me growing up I was a big fan of Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs. (Yeah, I know none of you have ever heard of them, but they did make a few appearances on the Beverly Hillbillies lol)

Banjos are not easy to learn but they have such wonderful sound capabilities. I love this shot. It has a story in it.

Very nice detail, I like the attention to the black and white contrast between objects. I also like the texture of the case.

Isn't it strange how a single image can conjure up so many senses. The smell of the grren grass outside, laughter and happy people, Powder, The inside of a music instrument case, calloused fingers, such a wonderful myriad. Thanks for the journey. Wonderfully done.
