I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Beautiful capture. Brings back fond memories of many years ago as I stood in a simular spot and the feeling is awsome, the power of nature. The mist makes me feel cold. Thanks for the view.

This is a great shot. This is just one of those things you have to see live to appreciate fully the scale of the photos. Well done.

A place I still have not visited... Oh well, I'm not dead yet, eh? Wonderful composition for this shot, Carin.

Well done, the noise must have been awesome, let alone spiritual! Then again it is a good space to be when the senses are overwhelmed. I like the crop, no need to show the full expanse of the falls. Cheers, Clive.

Nice perspective of the falls. I understand what you mean when you say that you felt you had a spiritual experience near this spectacular wonder. When white man first came to the falls they could hear its sound for several miles downstream. In fact it was probably the loudest sound they had ever heard up to that point in their existence. The word "Niagara" originates from the Iroquois Nation and means: "Thunder of waters". I've been there many times and it's always interesting watching the faces of the people as they approach the falls and shortly there after - Some "get it" right away but many will carry the experience away unwrapped. The fact that you are one of the few who received the gift immediately makes your photo all that more poignant imo. I hope you get to visit there again soon.
