Description

This was taken last Saturday before we did our snowshoe hike. For those who know the area, I'm standing directly in front of Timberline Lodge at about 6000 ft (1800 m) looking south down the backbone of the Cascade Range. The nearest mountain is Mt Jefferson, about 50 miles (80 km) away. Next are the Three Sisters, about 75 miles (120 km) away, and I think I can see Mt Bachelor a bit farther left in that low area. It's about 100 miles (160 km) away, which is about as far as you can ever see from here. It was such a beautiful day, it's hard to believe we may get snow this weekend. The flowers will not be happy. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

Saturday was definitely a picture perfect day and you took a great perfect picture. This is what Ken calls a Five Mountain Day ...you can see all five mountains when standing in one spot.

These stark beauties look a bit unforgiving, but gorgeous! All the square patches of snow must be ski areas. Looks like you had an incredible day :)

Beautiful shot, Dennis. Yeah, I know you say it snows, but it IS hard to imagine it cause you mention the rain so often, and all your pictures are so green...well most of them.
