Description

This was done months ago, but delayed for two reasons. I was impressed by some dragon images by my friend Severine, for whom dragons mean good beings and not devilesque creatures. And for some time I hoped to make a link to an interesting photo series by my wife mtc. But after she had posted some Thailand pictures, she is now involved in Senegal images… This composition combines an Artmatic Voyager seascape modeled by the very talented Steve Swayne (aka MalenySteve or Serendigity) with a Daz Dinokonda, rendered in Poser 7, created by the fantastic fantasy animal specialist who is Dinoraul. However, Artmatic Voyager does not like so much these stormy waters: it makes appear a huge quantity of cracks, as if it was some badly dried cast! I had to close these cracks one by one with Photoshop’s Clone Stamp tool. Not a difficult operation, but it takes time. I guess that to create this landscape was not simple for Steve. I added some foam around the dragon, that I extracted from a photo I took of some furious waves on the Mediterranean sea. But I recognize that it is better to do that with custom-made Photoshop brushes. Finally I added the usual column of Photoshop Adjustment Layers to get the dramatic mood I was willing.

I am happy to dedicate this pict to ragouc, a prominent fantasy-scifi Poser user. I invite everybody to spend an exquisite moment exploring his gallery. Ragouc is specially good in action scenes and expressions.

outstanding water and mood. dragons hold no real meaning to me since they are imaginary, but I do appreciate all the ones created for 3d or drawn for 2d.real life scares me more than imaginary

This turned out really well. Great job where the monster meets the water. I always have problems with that kind of thing.
