Description

He had dark eyes. He had dark hair. He wore a set of features more sculpted than grown. Though the city around him was a monster of baroque complexity (with streets curved like the arch of a back in the throes of an ecstasy that brings sweat to the flesh) he took no notice of it. Indeed—a chameleon of sorts—he blended in perfectly with the simple, uncomplicated passage through which we walked. I saw him approach, and pause to interrogate something with his gaze: some small curiosity, tucked away behind the flat pane of a display window glass. I saw him wipe his nose with a handkerchief. In seeing him, I thought of Pavel: a brother, perhaps, a cousin. At the very least, they share nationality. Perhaps—as well—they share the wild quirks of an absurdist's sense of humor. I don't know. I can only guess. But, for certain, I know that this stranger has dark eyes and dark hair. --And like Pavel, I have only ever photographed him from behind. *** As always, thank you for viewing and commenting.

An individual almost oblivious to his familiar surroundings, save for the object he stopped to peer at in the window, and you have captured the moment in time forever, with your lens.

A lovely photo and writing to match. And wouldn't he enjoy seeing and reading this. But then, of course, he would no longer be a stranger. CC

Great photo. You are immediately drawn to the figure in the distance & then draw back to take in the wonderful tones & radiated light in the walkway. Your words add extra meaning.
