Description

Below Niagara Falls, extending for some 7 miles (11 km) is the Niagara Gorge. It is scattered with Silurian formations which display a wealth of natural beauty. This gorge is a product of erosion that continues to be sculpted by the rushing water from the Falls which is undercutting the soft shale beneath a ledge of the more-resistant Silurian dolomite. Millions of years ago, this is actually where the Falls were located and eventually the area where they are presently, will look like this until they eventually work their way back to the Lakes and cease the natural erosion of the landscape. Excellent work Keith, that's some cliff face in there. Interesting to read your desciption as well of the life cycle of Niagara Gorge. I like the upfront foliage. Tony :-)

This is pretty good. The height, depth, reflections and foreground vegetation all combine to make an excellent render.

The branches in the foreground give a good sense of distance and depth of field in this superbly lit landscape. I haven't yet worked on the textures and mats in the tree editor, but there should be a way of making them more realistic, just like the terrain mats which need a good working on them to adjust them to what actual rocks and terrains look like.Very nice Bryce scene, as always, Keith.

Well done. These formations you conjure are consistently surprising. If you read the first chapter in Susan Kitchen's book Realworld Bryce, where it tells about the evolution of the program, you understand that this was precisely what Bryce was designed for. Kudos.
