Ultrafractal 4.03 -- Photoshop 7
Hi y'all! As I was trying to come up with submissions to the fractal calendar thingie, I decided to try to add some colors to my old "Kastenie" spiral in my gallery here - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1404439&member
and came up with this coloration. On a whim, I did some texture work in PS and came up with this. I'm thinking it looks pretty darn hand-painted but figured maybe I'd better run it past others before "love at first sight" got the better of me and I spent $$ getting it printed. What do y'all think? Worth the ink? I color balanced a bit more red into the image to tone down the yellow and give a more orange hue - ok? Or maybe brighter yellow along the outside was better? Suppose it's hard to tell without the other one to look at. The difference is minor, though this tweak does make the image a bit less bright. Needless to say, this one probably isn't so good for the calendar with all this texturing, though.
Thanks for stopping by!
Rick

I think it's amazing! You couldn't get more of a 'conquistador' feeling from an abstract. Colors...PERFECT! Texture? ....PERFECT! In fact, I am saving this in my wallpaper folder. THANKS!

Hi Rick! Now I love this one, especially the sense of movement and those incredible, raw-wall-like textures. Looks like painted on an old wall, allright. I'd just "mute" the colors an eeny weeny bit, especially the purples, though its really hard to say without seeing the result right away. For all else, its one I'd hang on the wall in my own home, so yes, could be worth a print! cheers, Valerie :)
