These grackles came by the dozens just the other day, taking over and shooing away all other birds, as they raided the feeders. Their sound is unique; I went out and found a sound clip in case you are interested. http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/id/htmwav/h5110so.mp3 To be honest, I think I should create my own, because the clips I found doesn't really match 100% to the sounds I hear here; but then where I feed them, they might sound a bit more aggressive. Wonderful capture! We have them here too (in Arizona). I first saw them in Puerto Rico. They are noisy and yes, bossy! What caught my attention beside their dominance and black plumage is the brilliant color of their eyes and the V-shaped tail when they fly!
