Description

I took this image of the mom and baby hippo in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Unfortunately I had a bit of a back light problem but I don't think it came out too bad. They are usually submerged in water and all you can normally see are their eyes. This pair had a walkabout and gave me this great opportunity. Hippo's are extremely dangerous and more people in Africa are killed yearly by hippo's than by the Big 5 combined. Thank you for visiting my gallery and for any comments posted. Hugs, Carin xx

Love the title Carin, and so glad you didn't miss this opportunist shot, like you say they aren't out of the water much, so this is something special. Excellent capture, you managed the back light perfectly. Bravo!!!!!

This is fantastic! I don't see ANY kind of a backlight problem in this image at all. It came out superbly! I love the title of the piece, as well as the sense of scale. The manner in which you captured the light on the hippo-skin is fantastic! Great work!
