Description

This is another repost of a Blender piece I did a little over a year ago. You can see the original here if you've a mind to. I did all the modeling from scratch in Blender, except for the statue, which is Einzie1's work. (Thanks, Darlin'!) It's the same image as before, just postworked in Photoshop. This started out to be an exercise in making a lamp. The hard part isn't making the lamp look lke a lamp - that's just modeling. The hard part is making the light come out the top and the bottom so it looks real. I was reasonably happy with the result, and then of course I couldn't leave it alone ... and it turned into a whole room! I never really plan these things - they just sort of happen. (Check out the reflection of the lamp and the table in the window!) The garden you see through the window is a photograph of my garden, taken in late April or early May a couple years ago. The texture on the pillows on the sofa and chair are photographs of needlepoint projects I've done myself. There's a lot of personal detail in this, which kept me amused for quite a while! :) Fun stuff! :)

....however you did this - with your Blender thing - I find the results very pleasing and inviting ...very harmonious -- with a great handling of light....love the painting of yours on the wall --- would you like a room like this in your own apartment ??

This is GORGEOUS...kinda reminds me of the sort of swanky home Ilya and Aleo would have...only with the view of a Nemaean Cloister-House grounds outside the window. Ah, but that's just me! As for this image (as it is) the detailing is fantastic and everything is perfectly placed! When I saw the thumbnail, I was convinced it was a photograph! I love this!
