Absolutely amazing detail! The skin is perfect! Looks like a fine painting. Has anyone used this image for a book cover or anything? Stunning work!

Very, very powerful image. I agree that this should be a book cover, or on a magazine (I soooo could picture this on the cover of Dragon). The detail is really great. I especially like the reflection on the glasses, and I'm thinking of grabbing this into Photoshop so I can turn it upside down to read the text! You did the right amount of detail on the shirt, by the way. I really appreciate the understated use of texture. My one little quibble is the ear. It doesnt look right to me. I think its mainly the angle it lies too close to the head (the point, or top, should be farther away from his head). Also, I think theres too much light on it it would be a more subtle work if it were deeper in shadows and we had to discover it after looking at it for a few minutes. The candle flame is okay but it looks a bit more painterly than the rest of the image. Perhaps if it were smaller and were just pure white? I dunno Anyway, sorry for bending your ear like this ;-) Its a great image and if I saw it on a book cover or magazine, I would never even suspect (or care) that it was 3D and not just a great painting. Awesome job!
