Description

I took this shot when my camera was set up to try painting with light - I just thought it'd be interesting to turn it onto a subject rather than at the camera. The room was totally dark and I used a small torch to slowly paint the instrument over a period of about 80 seconds. As for the guitar, it has been played many years ago in my dad's old band, my brothers' band, and though I've never played it onstage I do enjoy a good jam with friends whenever possible. It's a little beaten and has some character in its scratches and blemishes (many of which I cloned out) but still plays like a dream, producing a lovely tone. Really my first attempt at a 'product' type shot. Adam

excellent capture, painting with light is great, me and friend went out in a cemetery one night and set up a 4x5 view camera we each had portable strobes and popped them off at various places which ended up making a wild image in the end.

87 seconds actually ;P Nice job - chair is a bit distracting (against a plain (probably black) surface or wall would make the guitar more prominent in the shot), but at least you know what to do now... go forth and try it some more :)

Thats one very beautiful guitar! I have a BC Rich which seems to be getting a bit neglected these days - must do something about that! Fantastic lighting and capture!!
