Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

People are funny! Kinda cuddly too. This image, is RICH! I love the sense of color. You have such an eye for that! I also like the idea of spiritual machinery...it reminds me of a pretty cool science fiction novel I read, "The Engines of God." I thought of that when I saw this image...well, actually I thought "The Propeller of God." I love the vivid reds here, as well as the "Let's talk God" in the same image as "Fill Dirt and Grading." Priceless!

Spirit and body. I thought of this as "Let's talk God, BEFORE we bury you." ;D Fun photo.

I just love the town name Thunderbolt, wasn't there a famous horse called that? great combination of religion and earth moving equipment, Wow! look at the size of that propeller. Thanks for sharing these interesting shots.

Yeah, well, I grew up in the Bible Belt and I gotta say, its a lot more quaint and cute when you don't live smack dab in the middle of this stuff. Now that I don't live next door to signs like this, I can look at this and say, "How funny!" Really marvelous shot, Marilyn and it sure does stir up some memories. :-)

Well they do say God moves in mysterious ways, so why not a bulldozer and an earth mover, religious people own businesses too I guess, and if they wish to combine the two thats up to them. It has made me smile some though Marilyn, you do spot some wonderful creations on your travels. A very colourful and interesting capture, to say the least. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Well seen, and a great presentation! You told me about this, but as they say - a picture is worth a thousand words! My imagination did not supply me with all this detail.

Live there? No way, Jose! Can we say, the same mindset as in the small town of Dayton, Tennessee in mid 1925 during The State of Tennessee vs John Thomas Scopes trial? Evolution versus Creationism? They wanted to hang Scopes for teaching evolution. Really broad minded. Interesting capture, anyway, Marilyn.
