Description

BB41 USS Mississippi, a New Mexico class battleship, was third in line at Leyte Gulf. Main armament consisted of the 14 inch 50 caliber naval gun, mounted in four turrets. The secondary battery consisted of eight 5"/25 caliber “open mount” guns, upgraded from the original 3 inch mounts. Commissioned in 1917 the ship originally, like most of her time, had underwater torpedo tubes - 2 × 21 in (533 mm), these were filled in before 1941. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
