my father was a good for nothing drinker and my parents were divorced when I was very young.when I turned 21 I was drinking for a while and I thought she was going ballistic when she found out I was drinking.I was living in my own place.there was no way I could live in the same house with her.I left when I was 18 and tried coming home after returning from living in CA.it lasted until I got a job. I was living on 15 cent pop pies but I was paying rent . I always paid for a place to live first and eating if I could. I always admired Disney cartoon art.there use to be a member here posting his versions of Disney characters which were beautiful but too many jealous people ran him off I think.a shame because he was an excellent artist

I can understand your mom's dilema. I am sure she loves you and does not want to see you come to harm. And still she wants you to have a reasonable amount of freedom to choose for yourself what you will do. I am a parent myself, with a 28-year-old daughter who tried to commit suicide while drunk. She lives with me now and I refuse to have any alcohol in the house, yet by gosh she is 28 and should be in control of her own life and yet I can't bear the thought of her hurting herself again. So give your mom a little credit, she obviously loves you and parents need understanding too.

I really love this, it brings up the child in everyone :) And about that episode with your mother.. well, I know it is hard to live with parents, but they have to understand that you need your "space". And please don't feel guilty about having a friend visiting and taking a few drinks, everybody is free to do whatever they want (as long as they don't disturb the others). Cheer-up friend! And I really like your new avatar, amazing light :)

I left my drinking buddies on July 4, 1981. It's been tough bucking the grocery checkers and MADD but I've made it with the assistance of a few topless dancers and an open container untouched on the bar. My parents and sister have now also switched to the wine every afternoon routine to be more adult. Someday, I'm going to ask John McCain if the Skyhawk he lost to a SAM had Shiuhorn, not that a AAA deception repeater would have helped.

cool shot. I drink at one time and then stopped. it was hard but I did it. 151 rum was my drink. I saw the evilsin it and so stopped. I did not drink for years then some one offer me a beer. I say yes and thought one would not hurt. hahaha I did not stop for five years then I stop again and never drink again. I guess you at home takeing care of your mom. which is good if that.

Aww, sorry for both you and your mom! You have to understand what she has been through. I'd advise you to perhaps go elsewhere to drink with your friends, as long as you don't drink too much, etc. My son has a problem with drink, and he was caught twice DUI, and they are making him go through a lot right now. I'd rather not see him drink anymore, since he cannot handle it. Respect her feelings, and I think it would go a lot better. I love Disney cartoons, or any cartoons. Excellent capture! Hope you are feeling much better soon.
