They've got really bright colors on these birds... Most Zoos Aviaries they're a pale light pink! Gorgeous shot !!!!!

Wow! They must get through some serious shrimp, that colour is enough to blow your mind, I don't think I have ever seen colour this intense before. Not on Flamingo's that is, superb capture Richard. I'm off to the zoo tomorrow with artaddict2 I hope they have some flamingos like these. I know they have some but it's been about 18 years since my last visit there. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Wonderful picture of the Flamingo. Amazing colour. The flamingo is a beautiful animal. Their colour is caused by their food in the form of shrimps and algaes. Just a funny comment :) In the passed..in Copenhagen Zoo they had to give the flamingos Red pepper/paprika for some time because they bleeked and lost their colour. Until it was discovered that shrimps and algaes provided the colour. So a change in the diet helped :)
