Description
When I visited the Arlington Cemetary in Washington DC a couple of year ago, I was deeply touched by this - the grave of the unknown soldier. The incription on the tomb reads:
HERE RESTS IN HONORED GLORY AN AMERICAN SOLDIER.
KNOWN BUT TO GOD.
I learned that there is a guard on duty 24 hours per day. I was priviledged enough to actually also see the changing of the guards.

Nice picture, I just visited there last week with my son who's in the army and it was a humbling experience. The guards are there in all type of weather. They have a very strict policy and only a very few qualify.

I've had the privilege of participating in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb Of The Unknowns. It was a somber and unforgettable moment. A few years ago, many years after the wreath laying, I revisited Arlington and visited all the grave sites that have unfortunately been added over the years such as the Challenger memorial, Pete Conrad (astronaut), Stuart Roosa (astronaut), David Walker (astronaut), Pan Am Flight 103, the First Gulf War headstones, and many others.
